Position:

Licensed Practical Nurse Purpose of this position: The purpose of this position is to supervise, provide and coordinate nursing care in compliance with facility policies and procedures and to assess residents' care needs and take appropriate action.

Qualifications:

1. Must have current license. 2. License must be free from any encumbrances. 3. Must not have any disqualifying findings barring employment as stated by State and Federal regulations.

Delegation of authority:

1. Take appropriate action to ensure adequate staffing to provide resident care. 2. Supervise and assess resident care and take appropriate action. 3. Implement facility procedures to provide resident care.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Follow established standards of nursing practice and implement facility policy and procedures. 2. Interpret existing policies and procedures for nursing assistants, residents, families and physicians. 3. Supervise and evaluate all direct care and initiate corrective action as necessary. 4. Administer and document direct resident care, medications and treatments per physicians' order and accurately record all care provided. 5. Perform and document comprehensive assessments of residents as assigned. 6. Listen to residents, family, or physician concerns and initiate corrective action and/or report concerns to Clinical Director.
