This role is responsible for maintaining patient flow, rooming patients, obtaining and documenting clinical information, assisting with exams and procedures, coordinating patient care activities, and ensuring an outstanding patient experience throughout every visit. Essential Responsibilities Patient Care and Service Collaborate with providers in assessing, planning, and implementing patient care. Escort patients to and from exam, treatment, and procedure rooms in a professional and friendly manner. Maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. Obtain and document vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medications, medical history updates, and reason for visit. Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures. Educate patients and answer questions regarding treatments, medications, testing, and follow-up care. Inform patients of delays and wait times when necessary. Submit electronic prescriptions and communicate provider instructions to patients. Coordinate patient testing, procedures, referrals, and follow-up appointments. Report unusual patient concerns or behaviors to providers appropriately. Deliver exceptional customer service to patients and their families. Clinical and Documentation Responsibilities Accurately document patient interactions and clinical activities within the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Obtain outside medical records, laboratory results, imaging reports, hospital records, and other documentation as needed. Review and update patient information to ensure accuracy. Answer and manage incoming patient telephone calls and messages. Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, pre-certifications, and insurance-related documentation. Notify providers regarding rescheduled, canceled, and no-show appointments. Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Room and Supply Maintenance Prepare and stock exam and treatment rooms. Clean and disinfect rooms and equipment according to established protocols. Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards. Monitor inventory levels and assist with supply ordering. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment. Qualifications Required Current CMA, RMA, or Tennessee LPN license/certification in good standing. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Commitment to exceptional patient care and customer service. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Preferred One year of CMA, RMA, or LPN experience in a physician office, specialty clinic, or outpatient setting. Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience. Experience with referrals, prior authorizations, and insurance coordination. Experience in gastroenterology, specialty care, procedural, or outpatient healthcare settings.
