How you'll contribute A Operating Room LPN who excels in this role: Perform surgical scrub, gowning/gloving, and maintain a sterile field throughout procedures. Anticipate surgeon and procedural needs; select, assemble, and pass instruments, sutures, implants, and supplies accurately and efficiently. Conduct initial, intraoperative, and closing counts (sponges, sharps, instruments) with the circulating RN per policy; promptly escalate and assist in discrepancy resolution. Review preference cards; verify availability and functionality of instruments, equipment, and specialty devices prior to incision. Assist with room turnover, decontamination of instruments, and safe transport to Central Sterile Processing (CSP). Collaborate with CSP to ensure correct set composition, sterility assurance, and readiness for upcoming cases.

Support patient safety initiatives:

time-out, fire risk assessment, surgical site verification, and specimen handling/labeling. Operate and troubleshoot basic OR equipment within scope (e.g., suction, electrosurgical units, laparoscopic towers) and escalate complex issues.
