This role provides patient care under the supervision of physicians or registered nurses, ensuring adherence to established standards and practices. Responsibilities include performing basic patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, collecting specimens (including phlebotomy), assisting providers with examinations and procedures, and supporting patient flow within the clinic. Additional duties involve answering phones, scheduling tests and appointments, documenting patient information, assisting with medication refills, administering medications and immunizations per provider orders, and maintaining exam rooms and equipment following policies. It also encompasses routine clerical tasks like locating patient charts, filing, and completing forms, as well as attending meetings and training. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited practical or vocational nursing program, an active LVN license in the state of employment or a compact license, and BLS certification. Skills required are clinical competence, attention to detail, communication, and ability to follow protocols. The position is PRN, per diem, as needed.
