45. Provide patient care and education in ambulatory clinics/areas under direct supervision of RN, APRN, PA, physician, dentist, or podiatrist. Use the nursing process to ensure physical, social, psychological, and spiritual needs of patients are met. Assist in determining predictable healthcare needs of clients in structured settings experiencing common, well-defined problems. Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care using a systematic approach. Coordinate care between healthcare team members to optimize patient understanding of condition and care requirements within LVN scope of practice.

Academic Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.

Experience Requirements:

Experience in area of specialty preferred.

Certificates or Licenses:

Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas. Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program. Other certificates as required by unit/service.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Above average verbal communication skills (heavy public contact). Analytical skills. Knowledge of medical terms. PC skills. Ability to operate computer, IV pumps, vital signs monitor, and unit-specific medical equipment.
