Qualifications Education:

Graduate of a State Board of Nursing-approved LPN/LVN training program or completion of equivalent military training that permits licensure.

License:

Current, active, unrestricted LVN license from any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association or Red Cross approved. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS ) - American Heart Association or Red Cross approved

Experience:

Minimum one (1) year of full-time experience in the past two (2) years in the assigned specialty. Must meet all continuing education and competency requirements per DHA and BAMC policies. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care under the supervision of RNs and physicians, following established clinical protocols. Obtain and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and assessments. Administer medications and prescribed treatments safely within scope of practice. Assist with procedures, IV insertions, phlebotomy, and specimen collection. Monitor and report patient progress, reactions, and changes in condition. Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records. Adhere to infection control, safety, and confidentiality standards. Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and assist with life-saving measures as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs. Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies, including walking or jogging to provide assistance.
