Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Records LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) combined with Accounts Payable responsibilities to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will manage comprehensive medical documentation, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and facilitate accurate processing of vendor invoices. Your expertise will support clinical operations, enhance patient care documentation, and streamline financial workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality healthcare delivery while maintaining meticulous records and financial accuracy. Duties Review, organize, and maintain electronic and paper medical records in accordance with clinical documentation standards, HIPAA regulations, and CMS guidelines. Assist in the management of medical documentation review processes. Ensure compliance with health regulation policies related to long-term care, acute care, inpatient, outpatient, hospice, and emergency medicine settings. Collaborate with clinical staff to improve documentation accuracy for clinical documentation improvement (CDI) initiatives and case management efforts. Process accounts payable transactions by verifying vendor invoices against service records, coding expenses appropriately using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner, and ensuring timely payments while adhering to hospital policies. Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions related to medical supplies, services, and vendor agreements. Support discharge planning activities by reviewing medical records for completeness and accuracy to facilitate seamless patient transitions across care settings. This position is part of the on-call nurse manager rotation. Experience Proven experience working within a medical office environment or healthcare facility with familiarity in managing electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Point Click Care. Prior inpatient or outpatient experience in a skilled nursing facility is highly desirable. Experience with utilization review, clinical documentation improvement (CDI), case management, or health information management is preferred. Familiarity with managed care policies, long-term care regulations including MDS assessments, hospice care documentation standards, etc. Ability to navigate EMR/EHR systems such as Point Click Care efficiently while maintaining strict confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Knowledge of Medicare regulations and home care documentation practices will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
