Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) (PRN) specializing in Behavioral Health to join our dedicated healthcare team. The LVN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with behavioral health needs. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal health outcomes. The ideal candidate will have experience with EMR/EHR systems, medication administration, patient assessment, and a strong understanding of behavioral health protocols. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, mental status evaluations, and physical examinations. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols. Monitor patients' conditions closely, managing acute pain and responding to emergent situations such as mental health crisies. Document all patient interactions and care activities accurately using EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, PointClick Care or Athenahealth. Assist with discharge planning, case management, and coordination of post-acute or community-based care services. Provide specialized care for patients with behavioral health disorders. Support infection control practices and aseptic techniques during procedures such as specimen collection. Educate patients and families on health management strategies including nutrition, medication adherence, and health coaching. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in a variety of settings including hospitals, outpatient clinics, or home & community care environments. Requirements Valid LVN license in the state of practice with current certification. Experience working in behavioral health settings or with populations such as seniors with geriatrics needs or individuals with developmental disabilities. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, PointClick Care, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to perform patient assessments including vital signs and physical examinations accurately. Experience administering injections. Strong understanding of infection control standards (NCQA standards) and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment. This position is integral to delivering high-quality behavioral health services across various clinical settings.
