We are seeking PRN day and night shift nurses to join our team! (must be available at least 2 weekend shifts per month) Who We Are The Aster Springs Richmond locations provide residential and outpatient eating disorder treatment with housing options in home-like settings in peaceful surroundings. With a team of highly credentialed, experienced therapists, nutritionists, and other team members, we ensure that each client receives whole-person and multidimensional care that helps them progress towards recovery. Our compassionate staff works with each client and their family to create an individualized comprehensive care plan that meets their needs. Works directly with client throughout shift. May eat with clients, attend groups and/or lead groups. Nurses provide a safe environment with active listening, open communication, and empathy by following the client's personalized treatment plan. As a client advocate the nurse ensure a multidisciplinary and holistic team approach.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform client assessments as ordered
- Oversee medical issues and report issues to on-call Nurse Practitioner
- Perform blood draws and reporting of values to on call Nurse Practitioner
- Understand medical emergency policy and act as lead during event
- Must be able to complete all nursing duties
- Responsible for all nursing duties during shift
- Correctly facilitate necessary shift communications to supervisor
- Works 2-3 major and minor holidays annually
- Communicate follow up needs to next shift nurse.
- Ensure effective communication between lab, courier and other medical offices and professional according to company procedures
- Communicate information and concerns to therapists and treatment team
- Communicates client information in "Comm log"
- Attend all required trainings and meetings
- Work with treatment team to present one clear decision/voice/standard to clients
- Understand and follows all company policies, procedures and rules
- Follow all HIPAA and Privacy laws, rules and company expectations
- Builds rapport and trusting relationships with clients while maintaining professional boundaries
- Uses empathy, sensitivity and genuineness during all times
- Completes other tasks as requested by management ISJP123 Qualifications What We're Seeking Education and Experience
- Hold current unrestricted RN or LPN licensure for the state of Virginia
- Appropriate Nursing Degree
- Active First Aid/CPR/AED certification (American Red Cross/American Heart Assc)
- Documented Proof of MMR and HEP B vaccination
- Successful completion of Criminal Background Check through DBHDS, Background Investigation Unit, and VDSS Registry Searches.
