$28.00-$32.00 per hour, based on experience About the Position We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our outpatient substance-use treatment team in Salem, Virginia. The LPN will provide nursing care to patients receiving treatment for substance-use disorders and will work closely with providers, counselors, and other members of the clinical team. This position is ideal for an LPN who is passionate about helping individuals achieve recovery and values a supportive, nonjudgmental approach to patient care. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient substance-use treatment setting Obtain and document vital signs, nursing assessments, and patient health information Collect and process urine drug screens and other clinical specimens as required Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, health conditions, and recovery Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records Communicate patient concerns and changes in condition to the provider and clinical team Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable state and federal regulations Follow infection-control, medication-safety, and clinic policies Support a safe, respectful, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented environment Assist with coordination of patient care and referrals when needed Perform other nursing duties appropriate to the position and scope of practice Qualifications Current, unrestricted Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds Compassionate, professional, and nonjudgmental approach to patients with substance-use disorders Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound clinical judgment Previous outpatient, behavioral health, addiction treatment, MAT, or primary-care experience is preferred but not required Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following is a plus: Substance-use disorder treatment Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) Opioid-use disorder treatment Behavioral health Outpatient nursing Urine drug screening Electronic medical records Schedule Full-time, Monday-Friday Primarily daytime outpatient hours with no overnight hospital shifts.
