Job Description

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - 23 Hour Crisis Stabilization Reports to:
RN/NP Schedule:
Full-Time, Part-time, or PRN; Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays to support 24/7 operations. Positon Summary The licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide direct nursing support services within the 23-Hour Crisis Stabilization Program under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or designated medical provider. The LPN will work collaboratively with the clinical and crisis response team to support the health, safety, and stabilization of adults experiencing mental health, and or substance use crises. This position is ideal for an LPN who is compassionate, calm under pressure, organized, and passionate about supporting individuals in behavioral health settings. Essential duties & Responsibilities Provide nursing support services under the supervision of the RN, NP, or designated medical provider. Report client medical concerns, incidents, medication issues, and changes in condition to the supervising medical provider. Assist with admission nursing procedures, medication reconciliation, and health screenings. Monitor individuals for physical, emotional, and behavioral health concerns during their stay. Obtain and document vital signs as required. Support crisis stabilization efforts in collaboration with the treatment plan. Assist with implementing safety plans. Support de-escalation efforts using trauma-informed and nonviolent intervention techniques. Monitor individuals for side effects, adverse reactions, and withdrawal symptoms when applicable. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with agency, Medicaid, HIPPA, and DBHDS requirements. Ensure proper medication storage, inventory management, and infection control procedures are followed. Communicate effectively with individuals served, family members (when authorized), supervisors, medical providers, and multidisciplinary staff. Assist with discharge planning and coordination of follow-up medical and behavioral health services Participate in trainings, supervision, and team meetings as required. Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times. Required Qualifications Current Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing. Ability to work scheduled shifts in a 24/7 crisis stabilization environment Ability to work in a fast-paced behavioral health setting. Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Ability to pass all background check, screenings, and credentialing requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in behavioral health, psychiatric, crisis stabilization, emergency services, residential treatment, substance use treatment, or community mental health settings. Knowledge of trauma-informed care and crisis intervention techniques. Experience working with individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Familiarity with electronic health record system and behavioral health documentation requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the facility during scheduled shifts. Ability to respond appropriately during behavioral health emergencies. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed to support program operations.

$30.00 per hour
