SALARY RANGE
$18.00 per hour + commission and service charge. The Lead Massage Therapist is responsible for delivering exceptional massage and body treatment services while serving as a senior and operational resource for the massage team. This role supports service quality, training, onboarding, and protocol consistency, and assists spa leadership with daily operations, mentoring, and performance support. The Lead Massage Therapist models technical excellence, guest care, and professionalism aligned with Silverado Resort service standards. Essential Functions Must adhere to the company's service culture and guest experience standards to create "guests for life." Must actively participate in the team member referral program and serve as a Talent Ambassador. Must participate in all resort-required meetings and trainings. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform/business attire and nametag. Deliver professional massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and standards. Perform thorough guest consultations and customize treatments based on guest needs and contraindications. Ensure guest comfort, safety, and satisfaction throughout each service. Serve as a technical and service-quality leader for the massage therapy team. Support onboarding and hands-on training of new massage therapists on protocols, draping, enhancements, and standards of care. Assist with service audits, skill checks, and protocol refresh trainings as directed by spa leadership. Act as a peer mentor and resource for therapists regarding technique, workflow, and guest care. Help maintain consistency in treatment delivery, room readiness, and guest experience standards. Support daily operations including room setup standards, product usage, linen flow, and back-of-house organization. Assist leadership with schedule coverage coordination and shift support when needed. Promote spa services, enhancements, retail, and wellness programs when appropriate. Maintain accurate treatment notes and guest intake documentation. Follow all sanitation, hygiene, and infection-control standards; no cigarette smoke odor permitted on hands, clothes, or breath during shift. Maintain treatment rooms and equipment to cleanliness and safety standards. Keep management informed of guest feedback, product needs, supply levels, and operational issues. Abide by all resort policies, procedures, and safety rules. Perform other duties as requested by management. Qualifications Current California Massage Therapy license required or Napa Permit. Minimum 3 years of professional massage therapy experience preferred. Demonstrated advanced technical skill across multiple massage modalities (e.g., Swedish, deep tissue, therapeutic, sports, prenatal preferred). Prior mentoring, training, or lead therapist experience preferred. Strong knowledge of contraindications, sanitation standards, and guest safety practices. Excellent communication and coaching skills. Retail and enhancement recommendation experience preferred. Working Conditions and Schedule Flexible schedule required, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to perform multiple massage services per shift. Medium work - exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Must be able to stand and perform repetitive hand and arm movements for extended periods. Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach as needed. Work is primarily indoors in a spa treatment environment with exposure to oils, lotions, and aromatherapy products. Expect daily physical exertion.
