Job Description
Certified Massage Therapist Curated Massage by Carlie Santa Barbara, CA Job Details Temporary | Part-time $65 - $78 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Free massages Flexible schedule Qualifications Private practice experience Intake Swedish massage Massage Therapy License Clean workspace maintenance Full Job Description Overview Hi there! I'm Carlie, the owner of Curated Massage, and I'm looking for a California Certified Massage Therapist to join my practice as an independent contractor while I'm away from mid-September through late November. I'm seeking a highly skilled massage therapist who enjoys working independently and providing exceptional care. This is a unique opportunity for someone who has been curious about running a private practice without the commitment of starting one from scratch. During my absence, you'll essentially be managing the treatment space and caring for an established client base. My primary goal is to ensure my clients continue receiving excellent care while I'm away. Your schedule can be flexible and built around your availability, making this a great fit for someone already working part-time or balancing other commitments. I do ask that you're available at least three days per week, including one weekend day, to see clients in my studio on Milpas Street. When I return, I'd love to keep the right person on the team for approximately three days per week if it's a good fit for both of us. I currently work 4-5 days per week and regularly maintain a full schedule. That said, I expect some clients will choose to wait until I return before booking again, so it's difficult to predict exactly how busy your schedule will be during those months. Because of that, the ideal candidate will likely have another source of income while building relationships with my clientele. If you're an experienced therapist looking for flexibility, independence, and the opportunity to work in a beautiful private practice with an established client base, I'd love to hear from you! Requirements Must provide up to date CMTC Must have Massage Insurance (through AMTA or ABMP) Will need to receive a Santa Barbara Business License Experience 1+ year of massage experience Responsibilities Provide high-quality, client-centered massage therapy sessions tailored to each individual's needs. Modalities should include Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage; experience in Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), Myofascial Release (MFR), CranioSacral Therapy, Thai Massage, or energy work is a strong plus. Conduct thorough client intakes, health history reviews, treatment planning, and post-session debriefs, ensuring clear communication and continuity of care. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client session notes and treatment records. Deliver an exceptional client experience by creating a safe, warm, welcoming, and professional environment while addressing client questions and concerns with compassion and confidence. Independently manage the day-to-day operations of a private, one-room massage practice, including opening and closing the studio, preparing the room prior to clients arrival, and ensuring the space is clean, organized, and inviting. Launder, fold, and restock linens; sanitize massage tools and equipment after every session; maintain cleanliness of the treatment room and common areas; vacuum and perform light housekeeping as needed. Manage your daily schedule, communicate professionally with clients regarding appointments when necessary, and maintain punctuality throughout the day. Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, client confidentiality, and sanitation in accordance with California regulations. Monitor and replenish studio supplies, notifying the owner when inventory is running low. Represent Curated Massage with professionalism, helping maintain the trusted relationships I have built with my clients and ensuring they continue to receive exceptional care during my absence.
