This position is best suited for someone who is comfortable working independently . You will often have the space to yourself, so I am looking for someone I can trust to confidently welcome clients, provide an excellent experience, care for the space, and handle the normal flow of their appointments without needing another team member present. Who I'm Looking For While experience and massage skills are important, who you are with people matters even more.
The right therapist is:
Warm, friendly, and welcoming Independent and comfortable working alone Reliable, responsible, and communicative Professional while still being personable Able to make clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable Comfortable allowing clients to enjoy a quiet session while also responding naturally when a client prefers conversation Respectful of professional boundaries and client confidentiality Confident in their skills without feeling the need to practice exactly like another therapist Attentive to maintaining a peaceful, clean, and professional environment Experience I prefer someone with at least two years of hands-on massage therapy experience and a solid foundation in therapeutic massage. I am less concerned with having a long list of modalities than I am with finding a therapist who provides thoughtful, effective bodywork and genuinely cares about the client's experience. That said, I'd love to hear about your background, including: Massage settings you've worked in Modalities or techniques you regularly use Types of clients or conditions you especially enjoy working with Areas of massage in which you feel particularly confident Continuing education or specialties you've pursued Requirements Current Illinois Massage Therapy License Professional liability insurance At least two years of massage experience preferred Dependable transportation Strong communication and professional boundaries Comfortable independently managing appointments and the treatment space Willingness to follow established safety, sanitation, client-care, and opening/closing expectations for the practice About Rooted Elevation Wellness Rooted Elevation Wellness is a small, independently owned wellness practice focused on helping clients find relief from chronic pain, stress, and the physical effects of everyday life. I have intentionally created a quiet, welcoming environment where clients can slow down, feel heard, and receive individualized bodywork rather than a one-size-fits-all massage. I'm looking for another therapist who can bring their own strengths and personality to the practice while helping preserve that experience for every person who walks through the door. Interested? Please send your resume along with a brief introduction. I'd especially like to hear what you enjoy most about being a massage therapist, what type of environment helps you do your best work, and what you believe makes a client feel genuinely cared for during a massage experience.
