40-50/HR Starting rate (raise after 90 day probation period and raise schedule every 6 months based on client retention and performance standards) Rates are guaranteed (our clinic does not accept tips so the pay is the amount that you will receive) Full & Part Time Positions Available (seeking coverage for Thursday-Saturday, more shifts available in the future)
About Us:
Stepp Above Massage & Wellness is a therapist owned massage and wellness clinic in Noblesville, Indiana that provides high-quality therapeutic massage services tailored to the unique needs of our clients. We specialize in women's health, nervous system and whole-being care (mind-body-heart). We pride ourselves on consistently creating a relaxing and healing environment for both our clients and team members. Clients who come to Stepp Above Massage leave feeling reset and rejuvenated and like they just had the "best massage ever." Our studio follows an all-inclusive pricing model meaning that there are no upcharges for aromatherapy, cupping, or other tools so you will never be expected to upsell to clients. We also have a no tipping policy as the services we provide are more geared in a healthcare model. (People do not tip their chiro or PT, so at Stepp Above we do not accept tips). Candidates will be paid based on a percentage commission split. The starting rate depends on candidate experience but will range from 40-50% for the first 90 days of employment. After the first 90 days there will be an evaluation and opportunity for pay increase based on performance and rebooking rates. Every 6 months thereafter, there will be generous pay raises based on performance and rebooking rates.
About The Position:
We are currently seeking a passionate and licensed Massage therapist to join our team. The ideal Stepp Above Massage therapist is a grounded, skilled, and emotionally mature practitioner who combines therapeutic bodywork with deep presence. They take connecting with each client seriously, ask thoughtful questions, work slowly and consistently, and understand that massage can support the body, mind, heart, and nervous system. They are comfortable serving clients seeking pain relief, regulation, and reset. They use modalities such as deep tissue, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, breathwork, cupping, and hot stone in a way that is intentional, safe, and customized. (We are open to working with LMTs who have experience or who are new graduates. There will be onboarding training regardless of experience over the Stepp Above approach to massage therapy.) They do not rush, overtalk, or perform. They listen, observe, adapt, and create an experience where clients leave feeling noticeably different, better, and more connected to themselves. The best fit is someone who is: Self-aware, Calm, Reliable, Humble, Professional, Emotionally regulated, Growth-oriented, Comfortable with stillness, Client-centered, Solution-oriented, Open to feedback, Respectful of boundaries, Grounded in service rather than ego They should not bring chaos, emotional volatility, superiority, judgment, or excessive talking into the treatment room. The ideal candidate's massage style is: Slow, Steady, Grounded, Consistent, Intentional, Therapeutic, Quiet when appropriate, Responsive to client feedback, Focused on outcomes, Nervous-system aware, Holistic They should not rely on a generic massage routine. They should be able to customize every session based on the client's intake, goals, tissue response, and emotional state. They should be respectful, trauma-aware, emotionally mature, and able to create a safe and grounded environment. Technical Skills & ModalitiesRequired or Strongly Preferred The ideal candidate should have experience or strong interest in the following. Please note that we are willing to train the right candidate in our approach and style whether they are a recent graduate or an experienced massage therapist: Deep Tissue Massage Able to provide deeper therapeutic work without force, rushing, or causing unnecessary discomfort. Trigger Point Therapy Able to identify and address specific points of tension or referral pain patterns. Myofascial Release Comfortable working slowly with fascia, restriction, and subtle tissue response. Breathwork & Nervous System Regulation Tools Able to guide clients gently into breath awareness, grounding, relaxation, and regulation without being overly clinical or performative. Cupping & Hot Stone Experience is a plus, or willingness to learn •Prenatal massage, lymphatic drainage, and other modalities are a wonderful addition. Responsibilities & Skills:
Conduct thorough client assessments to understand specific concerns, medical history, and treatment goals. Strong patient service skills with a focus on empathy and active listening. In-depth knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to massage therapy. Develop and implement personalized (no routines) treatment plans in collaboration with clients, addressing their unique health and wellness objectives. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including treatment notes and progress reports. Schedule clients for follow up appointments and take payment for services Open and close the treatment studio based on provided checklists Experience working in a chiropractic office, physical therapy office, or similar healthcare setting is highly desirable. Utilize knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to ensure safe and effective treatments. Educate clients on self-care techniques and pain management strategies. Follow all safety protocols, hygiene standards, and licensing regulations to uphold the highest quality of care.
Requirements:
State-issued massage therapy license. Certification from an accredited massage therapy program. Strong proficiency in various massage modalities, including but not limited to Swedish, deep tissue, and myofascial release. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate and client-focused approach to care. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Professional liability insurance coverage. Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
