Mileage reimbursement and weekly pay at $36 an hour. You provide therapeutic and touch interventions to patients while supporting physical comfort, reducing pain and anxiety, and enhancing their overall quality of life. Must be willing to work in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and/or hospitals.
Education & Experience:
Active and unencumbered massage therapist license in Massachusetts. Graduation from an accredited massage therapy program. Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years experience as a massage therapist. Hospice, palliative, oncology, or geriatric experience preferred. Knowledge of gentle, adaptive techniques suitable for medically fragile and terminally ill patients. Training or certification in comfort touch, oncology massage, or end-of-life massage techniques preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides safe, compassionate massage therapy tailored to the needs, preferences, and conditions of hospice patients. Apply techniques appropriate for end-of-life care, including gentle massage, comfort touch, and relaxation-focused interventions. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to incorporate massage therapy into plan of care. Document sessions according to agency standards. Observe and communicate changes in patient status, comfort, or response to massage therapy with nursing and clinical staff. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on the benefits and role of massage therapy in palliative and hospice care. Adhere to infection control, safety, and compliance protocols including HIPAA and CMS hospice regulations. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and staff education as needed. Contribute to the hospice's mission of providing holistic, compassionate, patient- and family-centered care.
