Job Description
Job Overview Compensation for this position is based on a per-patient pay structure. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) to join our Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture practice. This position will primarily work out of our Frederick location; however, there may be occasional days requiring coverage at our Gaithersburg office. In this role, you will provide exceptional massage therapy services that support relaxation, pain relief, recovery, and overall wellness for our patients while working collaboratively within a holistic healthcare environment. Responsibilities Perform professional massage therapy sessions utilizing techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and other therapeutic modalities tailored to patient needs. Conduct thorough patient assessments to understand individual concerns, health history, treatment goals, and areas of discomfort. Collaborate with acupuncturists and other providers within the TCM practice to support comprehensive patient care plans. Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to develop safe and effective treatment approaches. Educate patients on self-care practices, stretching, posture, and wellness recommendations to support treatment outcomes. Maintain accurate and detailed treatment documentation in compliance with privacy and professional standards. Provide a welcoming, professional, and healing environment while delivering excellent patient-centered care. Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment rooms and equipment. Stay current with continuing education, industry standards, and best practices in massage therapy and holistic healthcare. Qualifications Active Maryland Massage Therapy License in good standing. Proven experience as a Massage Therapist with strong hands-on therapeutic skills and patient care experience. Experience with deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, pain management, and therapeutic bodywork techniques preferred. Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to massage therapy practice. Interest or experience working in a holistic, acupuncture, or integrative medicine setting is highly preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with a diverse patient population. Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism, reliability, and high standards of hygiene and patient care. Flexibility to occasionally provide coverage at the Gaithersburg location as needed.
