Average 22.5 up to 30 hours per week with built-in 30 min rest periods between clients and a 1 hour lunch to prevent burnout.

Position Summary The Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) is responsible for delivering professional, high-quality, and customized massage therapy treatments to day spa guests. This position requires an advanced understanding of anatomy, clinical assessment, and client communication to promote wellness, alleviate discomfort, and provide deep relaxation. As a key representative of Nouvelle Vie Health and Wellness, the LMT must maintain a pristine, peaceful environment and adhere strictly to all state licensing, sanitation, and ethical standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Client Care & Customization:

Conduct brief, comprehensive pre-service consultations to review client health history, goals, and contraindications. Customize each session utilizing approved modalities to meet individual needs safely.

Service Standards:

Provide continuous, attentive hands-on massage therapy for the full duration of the scheduled service time. Maintain impeccable professional draping standards at all times to ensure client comfort, security, and privacy.

Sanitation & Safety:

Clean, sanitize, and reset the treatment room between every client according to local health regulations and spa protocols. Ensure all linens, tools, and surfaces are pristine.

Operational Excellence:

Complete light operational side-duties during down periods, including restocking supplies and sorting spa laundry.

Client Retention:

Provide professional post-service recommendations to clients regarding self-care stretches, home-care wellness products, and optimal rebooking schedules to foster long-term loyalty.

Documentation:

Accurately document client intake notes, focus areas, and session preferences according to the spa's protocols immediately following each treatment. Physical Requirements Ability to perform 4 - 5 hours of hands-on massage therapy per day and NO MORE than 6 hours of hands-on massage therapy per day. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, leaning, and applying physical pressure utilizing proper body mechanics. Manual dexterity and strength in hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders to perform repetitive therapeutic movements. Ability to lift, pull, or move up to 25 pounds (e.g., handling laundry baskets or heavy massage tables/stools).

Qualifications and Additional Requirements Licensure:

Must hold a current, active, and unrestricted license to practice massage and bodywork therapy in the State of North Carolina (LMBT).

Education:

Certificate of graduation from an accredited massage therapy program consisting of a minimum of 650 hours of supervised instruction.

Insurance:

Active personal professional liability insurance policy or willingness to obtain it prior to start date.

Experience:

Both experienced therapists and recent graduates from accredited programs are welcome to apply.

Availability:

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and alternating day and evening shifts.
