The school clinic & day spa is the practicum component of their education. As such, students are given first preference of shifts to help them achieve the hours required for on-time graduation. LMTs are given any leftover shifts not used by active students. Additionally, as each new student cohort begins their experiential practicum, LMT work hours will shift to accommodate these students working toward completion of their required course hours.
Requirements:
Current Utah LMT with professional liability insurance in place with the school listed as an additionally insured on the policy. Excellent practice skills in all the massage modalities offered and hydrotherapy/ spa treatments offered in the clinic. Excellent communication skills with clinic clientele. Clean modest dress required at all times. Under supervision of the Spa Director or Spa Manager.
Duties:
Job duties to include, but not limited to: It is important to portray a positive and friendly image to all clients and students as an LMT sets the mood and spirit of the clinic and is the focal point for spa effectiveness. Thus an LMT can make or break a professional service environment, and we rely on them to set forth this professional yet warm and sincere image. Be on time for shifts, which means being on site 15 minutes ahead of time. Bring sufficient sheets and lubricant for the shift. Begin sessions on time and end at scheduled time. Agrees to abide by the school mission, philosophy, objectives, and code of ethics/conduct as stipulated in the school catalog and all policies in the clinic handbook & employee handbook. Clean the treatment room, massage table, and any other equipment used during the shift after the shift is over, and set the massage table back to its original position. Agree to maintain a current Utah massage therapy license and current professional liability insurance as required for employment with Healing Mountain as additionally insured. Agree to have current First Aid/CPR certification at all times, and provide documentation of any continuing education or professional growth opportunities in their field of study annually. Maintain spa equipment and facilities that are used and notify the Spa Director or Spa Manager of any broken or dysfunctional equipment. Request time off at least two weeks in advance of the time off. If unable to work the assigned shift, find someone to cover the shift and notify the spa of the change. Three or fewer last-minute callouts/year. If coverage is found, it doesn't count as a callout. Model professionalism, attendance, and punctuality to set an example for students. Must leave appropriate S.O.A.P. notes on all clients. Be a body for student evaluations at least once per cohort. Attend 2 LMT meetings per year. Must be available to perform all of the spa services that they have received training for. Must work at least two shifts per week in the spa. Notify Spa Director, Campus Director or School Director of any problems and proposed resolutions.
Wage:
Wage varies; see above. Hours vary. Part-time position. Wage to increase commensurate with experience and performance. (
