The Body Mechanic is a massage therapy practice based in Salem, VA specializing in therapeutic massage therapy for pain relief and mitigation. We are seeking a skilled and licensed massage therapist that is passionate about using evidence-based modalities to improve clients' quality of life to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of anatomy and various massage modalities, in particular deep tissue and sports massage, enthusiasm for learning to be a better therapist, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing competent and compassionate service to clients. As a licensed massage therapist, you will be responsible for assessing clients' needs and preferences, and delivering high-quality, customized massages.

Responsibilities:

Perform professional quality massage, including modalities such as deep tissue, sports, and trigger point Customize massages based on individual client needs and preferences Maintain detailed treatment records Educate clients on the benefits of regular massage as part of their overall wellness program Uphold hygiene standards and follow health and safety regulations Collaborate with other professionals such as chiropractors, physiotherapists, and doctors as needed Attend and participate in continuing education and training workshops to maintain current licensure and expand skill set, including individual training as needed in our local office

Requirements:

Valid state license to practice massage therapy in the state of Virginia Completion of a certified massage therapy program Specialize in therapeutic massage techniques aimed at pain relief and mitigation. Proficiency in various massage modalities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build strong, trust-based relationships with clients and effectively communicate the benefits of therapeutic massage. Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information Basic computer skills Strong desire to help others through the healing benefits of massage Professional and neat appearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required Certification in additional specialized techniques or therapies Experience with diverse client base
