Job Description
The position of Certified Massage therapist is an integral part of the SHSR Team. These are some of the required skill sets, qualification / certification, & educational requirements for the position. This job description serves as an overview and highlights key points focused on the expectations of the position of Certified Massage Therapist. This job description is developed with the understanding that other requirements may be necessary to fully handle a situation in the position. It is also professionally understood that any other tasks that are assigned are expected to be handled, once understood and agreed upon. This position is reported directly to the General Manager.
Educational background:
- Min. 2 years experience.
- College degree preferred/ completion of an accredited massage therapy program
- High School Diploma / GED
- Valid state certification, licensure, or registration.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Combination of above listed
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in various massage modalities (e.g. Swedish, deep tissue, sports, prenatal, trigger point).
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
- Ability to assess client needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Familiarity with sanitation, hygiene, and infection-control standards.
- Physical stamina to perform massages for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and strength for applying different levels of pressure.
- Ability to stand, bend, and remain in repetitive positions during sessions.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations.
- Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
- Empathy, patience, and sensitivity to clients' needs.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Ability to maintain accurate client records and treatment notes.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
- Adherence to state laws, ethical standards, and workplace policies.
- Proficient in using all computer software and programs aligned with this position. Any training or continued development will be provided when needed. All pertinent equipment necessary to perform the responsibilities and tasks of this position will be provided by the resort.
- Hourly rate $9 plus 35% commission.
