Job Summary:

The Clinical Assistant 2 provides clinical and administrative support in a rural urgent care setting for patients of all ages. The role supports providers with patient flow, vital signs, testing, documentation, and more advanced clinical procedures. Urgent Care experience is required.

Responsibilities:

Room patients and obtain/document vital signs, medical history, and medication information. Perform point-of-care testing, specimen collection, EKGs, and other procedures based on competency. Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, treatments, and patient transfers. Perform nebulizer treatments, ear lavage, cast removal, diabetes foot screenings, dressing changes, and other clinical tasks. Maintain accurate patient records and update medication and immunization information. Provide basic patient education and discharge instructions as directed by providers. Prepare and sanitize exam rooms and maintain medical equipment and supplies. Follow infection control, safety, and waste-disposal standards. Support efficient patient flow and provide cross-coverage when needed. Use EMR and other healthcare information systems accurately.

Requirements:

Urgent Care experience is required. High school diploma or GED required. Current BLS certification required. Minimum 1 year of qualifying healthcare experience. Completion of a CCMA program OR qualifying experience as a Clinical Assistant, CNA, EMT, or CHA. Knowledge of basic patient triage and medical terminology. Ability to operate basic clinical equipment, including vital-sign equipment and EKG machines.

$60,000.00 - $83,000.00 per year
