$15-20/hr depending on experience Medical Clerk / Assistant Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Medical Clerk / Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will perform a combination of administrative and clinical duties essential to providing quality patient care within a secure environment. The ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational skills, clinical competence, and the ability to maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality at all times. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule "off-site" medical appointments for inmates. Maintain strong, clear communication between medical staff and jail administration to ensure safe and timely patient transport and care. Administer medications accurately in accordance with established protocols and physician orders, under the direct supervision of the staff nurse. Perform clinical tasks including taking vital signs, conducting glucose checks.administering intramuscular (IM) injections. Manage patient charts, electronic health records, and general medical documentation. Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and perform other clerical duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience taking vital signs and checking glucose levels is required Experience with administering IM injections and blood draws (phlebotomy) is preferred, but not required. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Medical Clerk program is highly desirable. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively and safely within a correctional or high-security environment. This position is for a local county jail. This is NOT a position for the prison. Due to the nature of this position, candidates with a significant criminal history need not apply. The ideal candidate must have a clean background check in order to be granted security clearance to the facility.

Pay:

$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
