Medical Assistant

Job Description

Hours of Operation:
Monday-Friday 8:00 AM- 7:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday 9:00 AM- 5:00
PM Position:
Full-time; includes rotating weekends and some holidays.
Overview Summary:
Medical Assistants assist physicians with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary for caring for patients' personal needs. They provide information on patient conditions while assisting providers with medical equipment and patient vital signs. MAs perform a variety of ancillary and clerical duties to include vital signs, diagnostic procedures, EKGs, x-ray under the direction of provider, waived lab testing, injections, documentation, and patient education following established procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including recording vital signs, updating medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support procedures to ensure safe and efficient patient care. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately by documenting medical histories, treatment plans, and procedural notes in compliance with privacy regulations. Support medical office operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling administrative duties related to medical documentation and records. Conduct initial assessments by measuring vital signs, performing basic physiology evaluations, and assisting with diagnostic procedures like ICD coding and anatomy assessments. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient settings such as ICU or trauma centers to facilitate seamless patient care transitions. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards in both outpatient and hospital settings. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries professionally, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring a comfortable experience for all patients.

Education/Experience:
The Medical Assistant must be a High School graduate or equivalent, with two (2) years of related experience and a background in a medical environment preferred.
Pay:
$14.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
