Medical Assistant -
Baxter Health Pain Clinic SUMMARY :
Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a provider, such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing and coding information for insurance purposes, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, and preparing patients for examination.
BAXTER HEALTH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands and adheres to Baxter Health standards and policies. Required to work within Baxter Health Clinics regularly to carryout, initiate and/or implement best practices for the Baxter Health Clinics.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Minimum two (2) years related work experience preferred. Previous medical office experience preferred.
Other:
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Basic computer knowledge required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, twist up to or exceeding 8 to 10 hours during shift(s). Able to push in excess of 150 pound wheelchair with patient or equipment. Spends 8 hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. May be subject to inside environmental conditions, hazards (including electrical currents and exposure to high heat and chemicals) and infectious disease. Work Environment Medical office setting, within a clinic environment Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a position in an outpatient clinical setting. Work schedule, 5 days a week, Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts.
