Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in various specialties such as dermatology, geriatrics, and medical-surgical units Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature Prepare patients for exams by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort Collect specimens for laboratory testing and perform phlebotomy with precision and care Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient histories, medical notes, ICD coding, medication administration, and treatment plans Support medical office operations through administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient intake, insurance verification, and maintaining medical records Assist with medication administration under provider supervision and monitor patient responses during inpatient or outpatient visits Ensure compliance with safety protocols including basic life support (BLS) standards and infection control procedures Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital environments or Level I/II trauma centers to facilitate seamless patient care transitions Maintain proficiency in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to diverse clinical settings Experience Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital environments with exposure to dermatology, internal medicine, or urgent care settings Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and records management Inpatient experience at Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs collection, and basic life support (BLS) certification Familiarity with ICD coding practices for accurate billing and record-keeping Experience supporting medical-surgical units or geriatrics populations is preferred Knowledge of hospital medicine protocols and outpatient procedures to ensure optimal patient care delivery Join us to be part of a dedicated team that values your skills in medical assisting while providing meaningful healthcare services.
