BACK OFFICE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures HIPAA compliance and patient privacy in accordance with law, policies and procedures Maintains CLIA-waived testing log (s) and ensures compliance with all checking and documentation of CLIA waived testing and sterilization equipment.
FRONT OFFICE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Schedules and confirms patient appointment 2. Provide excellent customer services and enhance patients experience 3. Verifies and confirms insurance, eligibility and benefits coverage 4. Ensures assignment of PCPs and entry into medical home 5. Receives and updates patient demographics and pharmacy information 6. Collects and posts payments 7. Follows the cash reconciliation policy 8. Follows appropriate workflow 9. Utilizes MPHC systems to resolve patients' needs related to coordination of care 10. Ensures HIPAA compliance 11. Interviews and engages patients on health information 12. Completes all necessary forms per MPHC guidelines, procedures and policies. 13. Communicates and answers phone calls 14. Monitors the waiting area 15. Processes and responses in a timely manner EMR or business practice tasks 16. Promotes and supports the integrated efforts within MPHC patient centered medical home 17. Other duties as deemed necessaryQUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/SKILLS
- Electronic Health Record experience
- Recent back office medical assistant experience (within last 24 months)
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program - diploma or certification of completion
- 2 years of MA experience front and back office (external candidate)
- Completion of internal MA Orientation Program
- Completion of MPHC Front office training upon hire
- For Internal Candidates must be in good standing per MPHC standards and meet the following: o 2 years' experience as a Medical Assistant and minimum of 6 months at MPHC o New grad - 1-year experience at
