We are looking for a Procedure Room Medical Assistant / Procedure Room Technician to join our procedure team and support our physicians during interventional pain procedures. This is a hands-on clinical role in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate is confident in the procedure room, committed to patient safety, comfortable maintaining sterile technique, and able to anticipate the needs of the provider and clinical team. Job Summary The Procedure Room Medical Assistant plays a critical role in patient flow, procedure preparation, provider support, and post-procedure care. This position works directly alongside physicians during procedures such as epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablations, spinal cord stimulator trials, and other interventional pain procedures. The successful candidate will help ensure that procedure rooms are properly prepared, patients are safely positioned and monitored, sterile technique is maintained, and rooms are efficiently turned over between procedures. Core Responsibilities Prepare and break down procedure rooms, including sterile trays, supplies, and equipment. Assist physicians during interventional pain procedures. Maintain strict sterile technique and infection-control standards. Prepare and position patients appropriately for spinal and extremity procedures. Assist with fluoroscopy- and ultrasound-guided procedures. Monitor patient vital signs, comfort, and overall condition before, during, and after procedures as directed. Verify patient identification, procedure, consent, and required documentation. Prepare and label medications and injectables according to provider direction and applicable policies/procedures. Document procedure-related information and post-procedure instructions in the EMR. Provide patients with post-procedure education and follow-up instructions. Perform efficient procedure-room turnover and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment. Monitor procedure-room inventory, restock supplies, and assist with supply ordering. Coordinate with front-desk and clinical staff to maintain efficient patient flow. Anticipate provider needs and proactively assist throughout procedures. Follow all applicable safety, infection-control, regulatory, and organizational policies. Required Qualifications Certified or Registered Medical Assistant. Minimum 1 year of clinical experience. Experience in pain management, surgery, orthopedics, or another procedural setting strongly preferred. BLS/CPR certification. Strong understanding of sterile technique and infection control. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with back-to-back procedures. Strong communication and patient-care skills, including the ability to keep patients calm and comfortable during procedures. EMR experience required; athenahealth/Athena experience is a plus. Familiarity with fluoroscopy and/or ultrasound-guided procedures preferred, or the ability and willingness to learn quickly. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Dependable, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to anticipate provider needs and work proactively with minimal direction. Location & Travel This position requires flexibility to work at our Scottsdale, Mesa, Glendale, and Prescott locations based on the procedure schedule. Travel to the clinic where procedures are scheduled will generally be required one day per week. On Prescott procedure days, the procedure team meets in Scottsdale and travels together via company-arranged vanpool. Candidates must be comfortable with this recurring travel requirement.
