About us San Joaquin Valley Pulmonary Medical Group is a busy primary and pulmonology practice in Bakersfield, CA. The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is committed to providing exceptional patient care while assisting providers with daily clinical operations. Responsibilities:
Room patients and obtain vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, height, weight) Record chief complaints and update medical history, medications, allergies, and pharmacy information Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness according to infection control standards Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with examinations and in-office procedures Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as directed by the provider Perform EKGs, spirometry, pulse oximetry, ear lavage, and other clinical procedures as needed Collect and prepare laboratory specimens following proper protocols Process laboratory orders and diagnostic testing Prepare and stock exam rooms and clinical supplies Sterilize instruments and maintain medical equipment Document patient information accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Coordinate referrals, imaging, and specialty appointments Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions Respond to patient phone calls and clinical messages appropriately Assist with prescription refill requests according to provider protocols Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations Perform other clinical duties as assigned Why Join Our Team? Work Experience and Education:
Graduation from an accredited school for Medical Assisting One year experience in a medical office setting
