We are currently requesting applications for a Medical Assistant with a minimum of one year experience to join our team. Primary Medical Assistant duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Preparing and maintaining exam rooms in a clean and orderly manner
  • Taking patient chief complaints
  • Perform vitals for a patient
  • Enter patient histories, demographics, medications, etc.
  • Assisting physicians with a wide range of tasks that are related to patient care
  • Contacting pharmacies with new medication and/or order changes as directed
  • Giving vaccinations/injections, performing vision tests, audiograms, venipuncture, and EKG's Obtaining prior authorizations for diagnostic exams and referrals Scheduling diagnostic exams Greeting patients in a friendly, professional manner Monitoring Patients Quality Metrics Data via Electronic Health Record and Pursuit Lists Scheduling appointments Answering phones Check-out patients and provide future orders
Requirements:
  • At least one year experience as a medical assistant preferably in a Family Medicine setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Electronic Medical Records proficiency, Cerner preferred
  • The ability to perform venipuncture
  • The desire to work in a fast pace environment
  • The ability to communicate clearly to patients and fellow staff members both verbally and in writing
  • Overall team player
  • Spanish speaking preferred
Educational Requirement:
  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • A valid Medical Assistant Certificate
