Job Summary We are looking for a dedicated Optometric Assistant to join our amazing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and have a solid foundation in medical office practices.. As an Optometric Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our optometrists by ensuring efficient patient intake, assisting with examinations, and managing various administrative tasks. Duties Assist optometrists during patient examinations by preparing necessary equipment and ensuring a comfortable environment for patients. Conduct patient intake procedures, including gathering medical histories and performing preliminary tests such as measuring vital signs. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR) systems, to document patient information accurately and efficiently. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries and scheduling appointments effectively. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless operations within the clinic while maintaining high standards of patient care. Assist in testing of acuity, depth perception, macula integrity, color perception and visual field. Qualifications Previous experience in a optometry office is not required but is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology is essential for effective communication within the team. Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary for building rapport with patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
