Job Description
An established outpatient Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Management practice is seeking a dependable and motivated Medical Assistant for its Folsom location. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys patient care, can stay organized in a busy clinic, and is interested in developing experience within a medical specialty. The Medical Assistant will support providers and patients while helping the clinic maintain an efficient, welcoming, and professional environment. Previous healthcare experience and Medical Assistant certification are preferred but not required. Training may be provided to a promising candidate who demonstrates reliability, professionalism, attention to detail, and a genuine willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities Welcome and room patients while supporting an efficient clinical workflow. Obtain and accurately document vital signs and other required patient information. Prepare examination rooms and patient records for scheduled visits. Use Epic to support patient check-in, check-out, appointment scheduling, and clinical documentation. Maintain complete, accurate, and organized electronic medical records. Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, providers, and team members. Assist providers and clinical staff with patient-care activities within the scope of the position. Perform related clinical and administrative duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a medical office, outpatient clinic, or other healthcare environment is preferred. Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not required. Experience in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or a related specialty is a plus. Familiarity with Epic or another electronic health record system is helpful. Strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail. Dependable, punctual, and prepared to work as scheduled. Comfortable learning new systems, receiving feedback, and adapting to established processes. Able to remain professional and composed in a fast-paced clinical setting. Compassionate and respectful when working with patients who may be experiencing chronic pain or physical limitations.
