Responsibilities Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit Assist healthcare providers during procedures such as injections, phlebotomy, medication administration, and wound care in diverse specialties including dermatology and emergency medicine Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient information, medical histories, treatment plans, and ICD coding for billing purposes Perform clinical tasks such as specimen collection (phlebotomy), medication reconciliation, and basic physiology assessments to support patient diagnosis and treatment Facilitate patient intake processes by verifying insurance information, updating medical records, and providing exceptional patient service from check-in to check-out Support medical office management by organizing appointments, managing medical documentation, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations Collaborate with hospital teams in inpatient settings or trauma centers to assist with complex cases requiring advanced skills like OR experience or Level I/II trauma center procedures Experience Prior experience working in medical offices or clinical settings with a focus on medical assisting or related roles Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical documentation standards Experience supporting patient care in diverse environments such as dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers or emergency departments Inpatient experience or hospital-based roles demonstrating proficiency in acute care procedures and Level I/II trauma center protocols preferred Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications related to phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous Familiarity with medical-surgical practices and geriatrics is a plus Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
