In this multifaceted role, you will provide essential clinical support, ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and efficient administrative processes. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake by collecting medical histories and vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates. Prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies and ensure cleanliness and readiness for patient visits. Support clinical procedures such as medication administration, X-ray processing, and basic life support (BLS) protocols under supervision. Document patient information accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct basic physiology and anatomy assessments to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance details, ICD coding for billing purposes, and managing patient records efficiently. Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, guiding patients through procedures, and ensuring a positive experience during outpatient or inpatient visits at Level I or Level II trauma centers or specialized units like PICU or Geriatrics. Support hospital medicine teams with vital signs collection during inpatient stays or emergency medicine scenarios in urgent care settings. Assist with clinic operations by handling phone inquiries, coordinating referrals, and managing documentation related to hospital or outpatient care. Experience Prior experience working in dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or outpatient clinics is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols. Experience with EHR systems is essential for accurate documentation and efficient workflow management. Background working in hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or specialized units like PICU enhances your suitability for this role. Familiarity with X-ray procedures or medical-surgical settings adds value to your application. Proven ability to handle intake processes, vital signs collection, and patient care in fast-paced outpatient or inpatient environments is required. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is necessary; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or geriatrics are advantageous.
