In this role you will provide essential clinical and administrative support in our outpatient wound care clinic, helping ensure smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality care. Working closely with providers, wound care-certified NPs, and other medical assistants, you will play a key part in delivering efficient, compassionate care to patients with a wide range of wounds. Responsibilities Greet patients, verify information, and manage the check-in process using the EHR. Accurately take and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration). Prepare patients for wound assessments and procedures by documenting relevant medical history and current symptoms. Assist providers and wound care-certified NPs during examinations, dressing changes, debridement, and other wound-related procedures. Perform basic clinical tasks such as wound measurements, dressing setup, and specimen collection as directed. Maintain complete, accurate, and compliant medical documentation in the EHR. Support clinic operations including appointment scheduling, patient flow, and organized medical records. Keep exam rooms and treatment areas clean, stocked, and compliant with infection-control standards. Educate patients and caregivers on basic wound care instructions and follow-up guidance as directed by the care team. Provide clear, friendly communication to help patients feel comfortable throughout their visit. Requirements Experience as a Medical Assistant (or similar clinical role) with solid knowledge of medical terminology. Hands-on experience with EHR systems and accurate clinical documentation. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Comfort working in an outpatient wound care setting and assisting with wound-related procedures. Strong attention to detail, organization, and infection-control practices. Ability to work collaboratively with providers, wound care-certified NPs, and fellow medical assistants. Excellent patient communication and customer-service skills. Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a focused clinic environment.
