Job Duties:
Patient Intake and Vitals:
Rooming patients, recording vitals (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature), and documenting the chief complaint, medical history, allergies, and medication lists in electronic health records (EHR).
Clinical Procedures:
Assisting physicians or nurses with examinations, minor procedures, specimen collection (blood, urine), administering injections/vaccinations, and performing CLIA-waived laboratory tests.
Patient Care Coordination:
Preparing patients for exams, explaining procedures, relaying instructions from providers, and calling patients with test results or follow-up instructions.
Administrative Tasks:
Scheduling patient appointments, checking patients in/out, verifying insurance, and managing clinic phone lines.
EHR and Documentation:
Accurately entering data into EHR systems , scanning documents, and maintaining patient records.
Clinic Maintenance:
Sterilizing instruments, restocking examination rooms, maintaining inventory of clinical supplies, and managing drug samples.
Specific Requirements Often Mentioned:
Certification:
Medical Assistant Certificate required, often with CA certification.
Experience:
Previous experience in a high-volume outpatient or primary care clinic is generally preferred.
Skills:
Strong phlebotomy skills, proficiency in EHR systems, and knowledge of medical terminology. "TSHL01"
Pay:
$24.00 - $27.00 per hour
