Job Description
Part-Time Medical Assistant / Patient Scheduling Coordinator Arthritis Care and Research Center is seeking a reliable, organized, and patient-focused Part-Time Medical Assistant to support our rheumatology practice. This position will primarily focus on patient communication, appointment coordination, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is professional, responsive, comfortable using phone and text communication, and able to complete daily tasks accurately. Key Responsibilities Answer incoming patient phone calls in a professional and courteous manner Schedule new and follow-up appointments Confirm upcoming appointments by phone, text, or email Contact patients who need follow-up visits and assist them with scheduling Send appointment reminders and instructions Text and email patients regarding appointments, required forms, and office information Send intake forms, consent forms, and other documents for patients to review and complete Review the daily schedule and verify that required patient forms have been received Follow up with patients regarding incomplete forms or missing information Document patient communications accurately in the medical record Route clinical questions and urgent concerns to the appropriate medical staff Assist with additional medical office and administrative duties as needed Qualifications Previous medical office or medical assistant experience preferred Strong phone, communication, and customer-service skills Comfortable communicating with patients by phone, text, and email Excellent organization and follow-through Ability to multitask and manage daily scheduling responsibilities Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented Familiarity with electronic medical records and medical scheduling systems preferred Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not required based on experience Create maging orders MA Schedule Part-time position Weekday availability required Approximately Schedule may include work at our Poway and/or Chula Vista offices About the Practice Arthritis Care and Research Center is a physician-led rheumatology practice dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients with arthritis, autoimmune conditions, and musculoskeletal concerns.
