- Greets and directs all patients, salespeople and visitors.
- Patient check-in for scheduled and walk-in patients.
Includes:
obtaining all required documentation in complete form, obtaining verification of patient ID, running insurance benefits.
- Keep reception area tidy.
- Checking out all patients
- Process and inform patient of the providers orders
- Schedule procedures
- Follow up and provide any proper necessary paperwork to the patient.
- Create all actions and referrals to the appropriate staff member Secondary Duties & Responsibilities
- as team members, front office staff are expected to assist with/back up other positions when the department is short-staffed or when otherwise needed.
- Phone operator
- Answer phones, direct calls, schedule appointments, and help callers with questions for both Allergy and GI calls
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program preferred Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times Must be detail-oriented and highly organized Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times Neat and legible handwriting Computer literate. Familiarity with Outlook, MS Word and using internet. Bilingual English-Spanish
