Responsibilities Provide day-to-day clinical care and support to patients in an outpatient setting. Perform patient intake, including vital signs, medical history, and medication reconciliation. Coordinate patient care according to provider direction and established clinical protocols. Perform clinical procedures such as injections and ear lavages. Assist physicians with invasive procedures and minor surgeries. Process medication refills and prior authorizations per protocol. Submit electronic referrals for specialty care and additional services. Manage patient portal communications and respond to patient inquiries. Answer patient calls, schedule appointments, and support care coordination activities. Maintain exam room readiness, temperature logs, and other required clinical documentation. Ensure accurate and timely EMR documentation while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). Current BLS/CPR Certification for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association). Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience. Strong communication, organizational, and patient service skills. Preferred Qualifications RMA or CMA certification. Experience in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Specialty Care. Experience working with HMO, PPO, and Medicare patient populations. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
