We are seeking a Diabetic Medical Assistant for a Full Time role working in a clinical setting. As a member of the health care team, the Diabetic MA provides support to the Diabetic Program.
Review charts to ensure patients are up to date on measures/requirements for their plan of care. Ensure that entries are factually correct and reflect the providers assessments and plan only. Complete documentation within 72 hours past the patient encounter. Schedule and perform RetinaVue exams for patients due on their Diabetic Eye Exam. Participate in ongoing training and education to remain knowledgeable about medical terminology, coding, and compliance regulations.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations.
What you need:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Current Medical Assistant Certification or Diploma. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated through the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments within the MACT organization. Experience with automated data systems and EHR, NextGen preferred.
Current BLS/ALS certificateMust pass Occupational Health Screening.
Must possess a valid form of identification as listed on the U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form, verified using the E Verify system.
Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier).The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.

We are seeking a Diabetic Medical Assistant for a Full Time role working in a clinical setting. As a member of the health care team, the Diabetic MA provides support to the Diabetic Program.
The Diabetic MA will:
Conduct visit preparation activities for the upcoming and/or next day(s) visitsParticipate in morning and afternoon Team Huddles;Ensure all related reports, labs and information is attached and available in patients medical record (NextGen) prior to their appointment;Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, O2 saturation and document all information in patients chart and complete Intake in EHR. Assist provider with patient exam and procedures; Perform various lab tests, screening and phlebotomy testing procedures consistent with training and clinic policies; Assist with maintenance and inventory of medical equipment and supplies, and restocking of exam rooms. Clean exam room and lab between patient visits according to protocol. Monitor providers inbox and assist with medication refills and tasks. Perform Prior Authorizations for needed medications, referrals, diagnostic testing Facilitate and log labs, X-rays, consults, referrals and other reports as needed. Maintain tracking and log records per protocol: Immunizations, emergency kit and injectables. Maintain infection control standards, including autoclaving instrument and logging of autoclave testing. Maintain communication and works closely with front office staff.
