Sunnyvale, California Benefits Great working location Health insurance Refer-a-friend bonus Weekly payroll 24-hour accessibility Personalized service Required High School Diploma or GED equivalent Minimum 1-2 years of MA experience Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant training program Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI Healthcare Provider BLS Knowledge of medical terminology Ability to perform routine clinical procedures within the Medical Assistant scope of practice Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, providers, and staff Ability to follow oral and written instructions and established clinical protocols Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently in a high-volume clinical environment Preferred Previous pediatric healthcare experience Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Previous experience working in an outpatient or specialty clinic Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR), preferably Epic Previous experience with phlebotomy, venipuncture, injections, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing Skills & Abilities Ability to interact appropriately and compassionately with infants, toddlers, school-age children, adolescents, families, and healthcare staff while considering age, cultural, and developmental needs Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures Ability to take and accurately document vital signs Knowledge of computer systems and software used in a clinical setting Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Ability to recognize and promptly communicate patient concerns, symptoms, reactions, and changes to licensed clinical personnel Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emergency situations Strong customer service skills and a patient•and family-centered approach Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team Responsibilities Escort patients to examination rooms and measure and document vital signs and medication information Prepare patients for examinations and treatments and perform routine screening tests Prepare examination rooms, equipment, and supplies before patient visits and clean and disinfect rooms after visits Assist physicians and other providers with sterile and non-sterile procedure set-ups, examinations, and patient procedures Administer medications by intradermal, subcutaneous, or intramuscular injection under the appropriate authorization and supervision of licensed clinical personnel Perform phlebotomy, venipuncture, specimen collection, and other technical supportive services according to established procedures and competencies Perform routine clinical procedures such as dressing changes, suture or cast removal, wound care, ear lavage, and other specialty-specific procedures as directed Perform routine screening procedures, including vision and audiometric screenings, as directed by licensed clinical staff Collect, label, handle, and transport specimens to the appropriate laboratory according to established protocols Perform and document point-of-care testing as required Document accurate and complete clinical information in the patient's medical record, including patient calls and clinical updates Report patient concerns, symptoms, reactions, and changes in condition to the appropriate RN, NP, physician, or other licensed clinical personnel Provide patients and families with appropriate education materials and instructions Process prescription refill requests according to established practice guidelines Pick up and receive medications from the pharmacy and follow department procedures for secure medication storage, temperature monitoring, and returns Maintain appropriate inventory of clinical supplies and replenish examination rooms as needed Maintain clean, organized, and safe examination rooms, hallways, and work areas Provide directions and information to patients and families according to established guidelines and provider instructions Support a patient•and family-centered environment while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and respect Follow all applicable safety, quality, infection prevention, patient rights, and organizational policies and procedures About Us Power Personnel has been working with healthcare professionals like you since 1994.
