Position Summary:
Under the leadership of the Office Manager, or Director of Practice Management, the Medical Assistant will coordinate prompt and appropriate care to meet patient needs. Responsible for rooming patients, taking vitals and preparing patients for physician. Processes all referrals, along with all scheduling functions, in office testing, creating/maintaining electronic medical charts, and gathering/verifying all insurance information. Recognizes the importance of demonstrating exceptional customer service, a positive, professional attitude and efficient use of resources. Medical Assistant performs related duties as necessary to fulfill the physician's and patient's needs. Upholds standards according to the mission, philosophy, policy and procedures of Watsonville Healthcare Management's patient focused care.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Diploma or certificate of completion from an accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
Experience:
1 year recent experience in medical field preferred. Basic computer, keyboard skills. Electronic Health Record experience preferred. Bilingual Spanish/English competency required. Licenses and/or
Certifications:
State or National Medical Assisting Board Certification preferred. (CMA, AAMA). Either AHA BLS or ACLS Required Days 1.0
