We are seeking a Medical Assistant to become a part of our team! Join our family at Geriatric and Family Medicine Assoc. You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly. We see adult patients ages 18-118.
Responsibilities:
Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner including referrals to our specialist provider network and prior authorizations Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff Communicate with patients in a personable and professional manner over the phone to set appointments and convey results Escort patients to exam rooms, routine skills: vital signs, EKG, ear irrigation, SQ/IM injections, Suture/staple removal, spirometry Phlebotomy skills preferred, but not required General schedule: Full time position, Monday-Thursday 8-5, Friday 8-2 Participation with an interdisciplinary team: nurse practitioners, MA, phlebotomist, and psychologist
Qualifications:
Previous experience in healthcare or other related fields, 2 years preferred but not required Familiarity with medical billing procedures, preferred but not required, can be taught Strong organizational skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Skills with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation, we use Practice Fusion Certified MA, preferred or plan in place to become certified within first 90 days
