Seeking someone who has a friendly, positive attitude, pays attention to detail, and can move quickly to keep up with the fast pace in our office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
PATIENT CARE Responsible for assisting the providers in the care of patients to assure optimal medical care Takes patient history, verifying drug allergies Prepares patients for provider exam/procedure ensuring consents are signed Prepares equipment and assists provider with physical exams/procedures Responsible for effectively communicating patient instructions and education Gives injections per physician instructions Prepares patients for surgical procedures Maintains clean, safe and well stocked exam rooms at all times Responsible for collecting specimens, tracking results and recall system Report lab/radiology findings to the patient per provider instructions
GENERAL DUTIES
Assist in general housekeeping duties including weekly "scrub-down" of all patient exam rooms and office. Sterilizes surgical instruments using appropriate method Uses universal precautions. Charts in medical records as appropriate Inputs and calls in prescriptions daily, per provider instruction Must attend all staff meetings and scheduled in-service programs including promotional events that are held after office hours Responsible for maintaining proper inventory for all clinical supplies Ensure phone notes and tasks are completed by end of business, daily Performs other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate
ELECTORONIC MEDICAL RECORDS
Proofs patient histories, physicals, consults, test results or other medical information obtained Verifies accuracy of patient information on file Willing to learn appropriate CPT and ICD10 coding as required Works with front office and other staff to route patient communication to proper location for quick review Duplicates documents and forms as directed Collect copays and past due balances as needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Completion of high school or equivalent Completion of a medical assistant program and/or college experience General knowledge of medical terminology; gynecology a plus
JOB RELATIONSHIPS
Ability to work collaboratively with all staff to achieve team goals Excellent communication and listening skills with patients and co-workers, as well as basic computer knowledge Passion for helping others Maintains a positive attitude and brings energy & enthusiasm to the job Benefits Benefits are available for full-time employees, which include: Fridays off Paid vacation Medical insurance available Pay starting at $19-$20/hr depending on experience Please reply with your resume, email, and best daytime telephone number.
