Responsibilities of this dual role of Mohs Lab Technician & Medical Assistant include : Grow as medical and surgical assistant with competencies such as, warmly greeting patients, rooming, scribing, patient counseling and education, clinic triage, prior authorizations, sterilizing instruments, and stocking exam rooms. Cross-train as a Mohs Lab Technician and develop excellent technique in preparing Mohs frozen sections and microscope slides. Master laboratory compliance requirements according to CLIA and OSHA standards. Monitor and optimize inventory of lab supplies and equipment. Communicate with patients and team members to facilitate an exceptional patient experience. Organize information and multiple tasks with attention to detail and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
Required Education, Experience & Qualities :
Bachelor's degree with demonstrated interest in the sciences, strongly preferred. Must have excellent attendance and communication skills and be consistently responsive using multiple forms of communication. Excellent manual dexterity and comfort handling delicate tissue and instruments. Adept at learning and utilizing technology, including EHR, practice management software, G-Suite, Mac computers, spreadsheets, and other computer-based and online tools. Experience in histology and dermatology and familiarity with outpatient surgical procedures, sterile prep, bandaging, and use of sterilization equipment are wonderful but not required. If you have the qualities above and are a hard worker who is eager to learn, we will train you.
Job Location :
This position is based in Longmont, CO and will require occasional training and/or coverage at our other locations when necessary. We currently have offices in Centennial, Littleton & Longmont, CO.
