Job Description

About us The Alpine Center for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in order to help our clients achieve their health goals through a uniquely positive experience.
Job Responsibilities:
We strive to provide the highest level of customer service for our patients and the successful candidate will demonstrate strong listening skills and empathy, professional and personalized interactions with patients and colleagues, and will self-motivate to assist in resolving matters that arise both for patients and colleagues. This job is available as Part Time, or Full Time (32-38 hours weekly) but a Part Time candidate will be required to have scheduling availability to cover office hours in the event of other staff vacation time. Under the direction and supervision of a provider the medical assistant will assist with performing patient care including but not limited to the following tasks:
  • New and existing patient intake, including thorough and accurate EMR documentation and collection of medical history
  • Answering calls from patients, drug company representatives, and other healthcare organizations
  • Responding to patient portal inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Reviewing and triaging incoming faxes
  • Managing tasks assigned by the provider(s) including but not limited to medication refills, contacting patients with lab results, and contacting other healthcare entities on the behalf of our patients
  • Completing prior authorizations in a timely and effective manner
  • Answering incoming calls if other staff are unavailable and assisting as able, or directing the caller to the appropriate staff and/or voicemail
  • Scheduling and assisting with patient appointment scheduling as needed
  • Assisting with thyroid biopsy techniques and preparing specimens for lab collections
  • Maintaining exam rooms, performing cleaning per CDC guidelines between each patient visit
  • Within scope of job, the successful candidate will demonstrate critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
Minimum Required Education:
High School diploma or GED.
Required Licensure/Certification:
CMA/RMA required; Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.

3-5 years
Pay:
$24.00
