Our Medical Assistants perform a combination of clinical and administrative duties to provide direct patient care services and assist providers with their patient care needs and requests. Every Child Pediatrics is a nonprofit organization provides comprehensive, affordable health care to nearly 24,000 Colorado children per year, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. Our experienced professionals focus on the child's overall well-being, providing high-quality medical care, behavioral health counseling, dental care, nutrition, healthy lifestyle programs, and connections to support services such as housing and transportation. We provide compassionate care because we believe that every child deserves the best health care and the opportunity to succeed. Responsibilities Checks-in patients, confirms patient identification, and schedules appointments Documents patient metrics including vital signs, height, and weight Performs other screenings as requested Keeps provider and patient/family apprised of patient status and progress to assist with keeping the visit on time and on schedule Verifies insurance, collects copays, and manages medical documents Explains all procedures to the patient and family in a way that ensures understanding Relays important patient information to the provider as soon as possible in order to expedite a high quality, safe and effective visit Performs specific procedures as requested and ordered by provider in a skillful and professional manner Informs clinic manager about assigned tasks that may require a higher level of skill or competency; utilizes other team members as a resource for care requiring their expertise Responds to incoming phone and electronic health portal messages Adheres to established Every Child Pediatrics clinical policies and procedures and stays updated on all changes Treats all clients with dignity and respect and honors their right to privacy Requirements Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate HS diploma/GED BLS/CPR Certification Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred Ability to perform tasks and clinical skills necessary for the care of pediatric patients, including vital signs, immunizations, blood and urine specimen collection Ability to use medical testing devices including pulse oximetry, glucose monitoring, hemoglobin monitoring, nebulizers, blood testing, and oxygen delivery Ability to work occasional Saturday morning shifts All candidates must be current residents of the State of Colorado About Us Every Child Pediatrics is an equal employment opportunity employer.
