Our Pain Management Center offers compassionate, evidence-based care to help patients regain control of their lives. Job Summary We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant / Authorization Specialist to join our Pain Management Center team. This hybrid role combines clinical support with administrative expertise to ensure smooth patient care and timely insurance approvals.
Responsibilities Clinical Duties:
Assist physicians during exams and procedures. Record patient histories, vital signs, and clinical data. Prepare exam rooms and maintain medical equipment. Administer medications and injections as directed. Schedule appointments and diagnostic tests. Educate patients on treatment plans and procedures.
Authorization Duties:
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits. Obtain prior authorizations for procedures and medications. Communicate with insurance companies and referring providers. Track and follow up on pending authorizations. Maintain accurate documentation and stay current with payer guidelines.
Qualifications Required:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Preferred:
2+ years of experience in a healthcare setting, especially in pain management or insurance authorization. High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in medical terminology or coding is a plus. Proficiency in EHR systems and medical billing software. Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
