Northwell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient-centered care in our fast-paced outpatient practices. In this role, you will room patients, obtain vitals, assist with exams and minor procedures, administer injections, and perform EKGs and point-of-care tests. You'll maintain accurate documentation in the EMR, support patient scheduling and follow-up, and ensure exam rooms and equipment meet infection control and safety standards. Responsibilities Room patients, obtain vitals, and document medical history in the EMRPrepare exam rooms, instruments, and supplies for clinical procedures Assist providers with exams, minor procedures, and specimen collection Administer injections, perform EKGs, and conduct point-of-care testing per protocol Coordinate patient flow, scheduling, and follow-up instructions Maintain infection control, sterilization, and safety standards Communicate test prep and discharge instructions to patients and families Support care team with documentation, phone triage, and prescription refills Verify insurance, update patient records, and manage documentation accuracy Participate in quality improvement, training, and team huddles Required Skills Vital signs measurement Electronic Medical Records (EMR) documentation Phlebotomy and specimen collection Administering injections and immunizations EKG performance and monitoring Infection control and sterilization Medical terminology Patient scheduling and coordination HIPAA compliance Point-of-care testing
