Our well-established, busy Rheumatology practice is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant that can perform both front and back-office duties. Duties Provide medical administrative support, including greeting and checking patients in, scheduling and confirming patient appointments, collecting and verifying patient information, answering phone calls, collecting copays, filing, faxing, and scanning documents Taking and recording vital signs and rooming patients Recording, maintaining and updating patient records in electronic health records (EHR) systems Assisting healthcare providers with patient examinations and minor procedures Collaborating with healthcare providers, clinical, and administrative staff ensuring efficiency Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and inventory of examination rooms and medical equipment Ability to travel to other offices as needed Experience Ability to prioritize and multitask in a busy, fast-paced environment General knowledge of front and back-office procedures and prior authorizations Knowledge of medical terminology Proficiency using EMR systems and platforms (Experience with Allscripts desirable) Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
